Connect-Disconnect X infinity

Your MWEB account seems fine. Intermittent connectivity is usually line or faulty devices. We have had no influx of customers calling in from your area with disconnect issues.

I have refreshed your account for you.

my speeds are very slow...it wont even get pass the download test on speedtest.net

Hi TmanSA

I checked the line stats are they are fine on our side :)

Thank you Mweb Guy

Lol were i am staying now i am on newer cables... not the old paper cable and it makes a huge difference believe me...

Speeds have been very very bad recently.

Completely open to the problem not being MWEB related, but there is something seriously amiss.

4 meg account, line syncing at 5....

General browsing and torrents have been utterly abysmal for the past week or so.

if it is indeed an MWEB issue, I sure am not willing to pay R530 a month for this.

Hi copacetic

Line is looking good, have you tested with another account to see if you get similar results?

But also still having sub-par streaming issues.

I'm absolutely convinced there is throttling on a per-connection basis, as when I use a download manager (multiple connections per file) I can max out my line, but single connections hardly ever exceed 200KB/s.

Good Day nihilist, we definitely don't throttle; that I can assure you.

When you refer to single connections, what type of downloads are you running?

HTTP.

wget http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd...hdd/debian-live-6.0.6-amd64-gnome-desktop.img
~100KB/s average (starts off at 200KB/s settles down to 80-120KB/s)

wget http://mintlinux.mirror.triple-it.nl/iso//stable/14/linuxmint-14.1-mate-dvd-64bit.iso
same performance as above, settles down to 100KB/s

wget http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/linuxmint//stable/14/linuxmint-14.1-mate-dvd-64bit.iso
~22KB/s

wget ftp://ftp.is.co.za/mirror/linuxmint.com/iso//stable/14/linuxmint-14.1-mate-dvd-64bit.iso
^ From Internet Solutions hosting
~300-350KB/s

wget http://mint.xfree.com.ar//stable/14/linuxmint-14.1-mate-dvd-64bit.iso
~60-120 KB/s

wget ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/ls-lR.gz
~200KB/s

Nothing really going on my line atm, else I'd not be getting blazing speeds locally, but as you can see, in general, international http is pretty sub-par.

What type of speeds are you getting on news?

Please also provide me netstat -a -b results.

Haven't used NEWS much lately, but just fired up something to test, 400KB/s from Astraweb.

Not posting my netstat results but I can confirm there's nothing eating bandwidth.

What my data shows though, is that I can get full line speed but the performance on http is not totally reliable at times, and remember I still have that pending complaint re Youtube performance.

Please send me netstat results via inbox messaging, I need this as proof in order to escalate your query to our Technical team.
