Mweb, what is this host?

197-80-130-16.jhb.mweb.co.za

I see a lot of traffic on my router to this address.

I also notice iTunes is accessing it, and I'm trying to download an app and it keeps failing.

Is this some sort of local cache for the iTunes store?

For the past 2ish weeks I've had nothing but awful downloads speeds regardless of time, method etc etc. I cannot seem to get more than an average of 50ish KB's again on my 1Mbit opposed to 100-105KB's Also as you can see the download speed is constantly jumping and not stable.

I've tried multiple download places as well as steam and other things. Is there anything going on as of late
Hopefully MwebGuy can fix it again with his awesome magical touch ^^ <3

Origin downloads are slow :(

only getting 40Kb/s...

Hi nihilist

I am following up with our Network team and as I get more information, I will let you know.

You might want to inspect the port used in your connections to that server, as it is blacklisted with spamhaus.org - maybe a mail server of some sorts (you might be flooding mail to it as well ?)

Is it only downloads that are slow? How is ther general experience so far.

Working good now. Thanks MWEB Guy <3

Yes.

It's not my side...

I don't think its your side either, I may be that the game is not cached locally. I'm not sure if we going to be able to test the download on our side either.

I'll have to double check, I just remember seeing it via iftop on my gateway and the traffic was between my iPad and the outside world while I was trying to get an app, and I think I saw the same host when I used iTunes via tcpview for Windows. That's why I think it may be cached via MWEB or perhaps a transparent proxy, perhaps? Dunno.

I'll look into it again later. Thanks.
