Thanks for the feedback, the readings seem much better.

The speed dropped the next day and has remained low all week.

Download Speed: 1995 kbps (249.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 170 kbps (21.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

I have complained every day to Telkom but without any luck. I have actually been quite rude and on many occasions called them incompetent.

So to MWEB and if Telkom are reading this you have until the end of the month to resolve this problem or take you service and sell it to some other idiot who may be prepared to put up with this pathetic service.

BTW I THINK IT IS A TELKOM ISSUE but I cannot prove it one way or another.

I can understand how frustrating this must be.

I tell you what, provide me with a trace route to a local and international site and I will escalate this to our specialists immediately.

I have a weird issue, for the last few days my internet has been really really slow in the evening but during the day its fine. I'm talking about general browsing, streaming and normal http downloads.

Has MWEB implemented some sort of throttling after 6pm?

Seems to affect both local and international sites, so it's unlikely an undersea cable issue.
