Its not my ping but my sync speed is dropping lower and lower resulting in lower speeds!
I'm not a heavy user - I use around 50 - 70GB per month. What else can I do?
Hi Mweb Guy
I've been an Mweb customer with 4Mbps uncapped for over 2 years - I'm on premium.
Since the SEACOM incident a couple of weeks back, streaming anything has become impossible at my house in Bryanston area. I used to be able to stream YouTube, Netflix, Hulu etc flawlessly without more than 1 or two buffers lasting a second or two each.
Now, I can't stream anything at all. I swear, Youtube, no matter what quality, buffers every 10 seconds. I can't watch anything on Hulu or Netflix - it buffers for 10 minutes and then plays for 1 minute. It will take me 24 hours to watch a 1 hour movie. The AppleTV that I bought can just as well go to the dustbin 'cause i can't do anything with it.
When I put my FNB ADSL account details into my router, I don't have any of these issues and I can even stream Hulu in HD.
So I donno what to do. The same happens when I remote desktop into my servers at the office. With M-Web, the connection freezes every every couple of minutes where I can't do anything and then it comes back on again. With FNB or Telkom account is's a breeze.
I've even tried a new ADSL modem with M-Web settings but that also didn't help. Connecting with LAN cable instead of wifi also doesn't make a difference.

It looks like MWEB passed it's sell by date . Skype is unworkable . Youtube is unworkable . MWEBGUY are doing their best but when the top doesn't care you can see it in the results . Time to move on
Eish, seems MWEB just can't keep it together lately, not only do we not have water here in our town, now my internet is down the drain as well.

Yes, that ^^^^^. Been a MWET customer since I got Internet at home, started with a 56k dialup, then 384k ADSL, going on, goodness, 8 years, more? The wheels have come off and it's time to look for a better offering. The 4Mbps is just not that.
Hi Mweb Guy
I trialed the 4Mbps first week (I think) of Feb and but did not have a good experience after a couple of call to your call centre and Telkom, I figured problem was Telkom (120ms latency to JHB server) hence speeds were sporadic anywhere between (177kb-800Kb). I eventually after 3 weeks told telkom to upgrade the line as it never worked to 4Mbps and now got the Mweb throttled 4Mbps account, but I got this new account I get a never ending cycle of AUP acceptance for first use.
Is this supposed to be accepted everytime I access the internet. I spend from 5-7pm with call centre yesterday as i had to leave at 7pm, it seemed working (frustratingly so) but when I got home after 10pm the problem returned again and am probably thinking this is never gonna work. or at least if it doesn't work today then maybe this is not for me.
Yesterday and pretty much every time I clear my browser history, caches, cookies etc. but this landing page keeps coming back up until this morning. When the callcentre agents remove it why does it keep coming back?
please help
--Busy cancelling this account now! Mweb didn't working for me I suppose
