MWEB Guy, can you please help me, I have repeatedly emailed your helpdesk and sales teams requesting the forms to cancel my Mweb account but I have not yet even received a reply. I requested it the first time on 27 Feb.

I am in the same boat. If I don't get a response before the 25th of March I will simply tell my bank to block the debit order on the 25th of April.

Hi, not too sure, but I will be testing them out tonight. Cant handle these current speeds. Tried to watch the launch trailer of Age of Empires II HD last night on YouTube, 15 mins to stream a 2min video??

Afrihost's official reply is that trial accounts don't exist. I would guess that you have what I have, a free 1GB unshaped account.

Those of you who were experiencing issues with justin.tv and twitch.tv, please do the following test and provide me the results via PM. The DNS has to be set to automatic as well.

Open command prompt

type the following command nslookup cdn.justin.tv.c.footprint.net

I currently cannot make a PPPOE connection from my router. The line is syncing but just not connecting up to the account. Cheers, let me know if you need my account details and I will send em along as I'm currently using my phone to respond here.

can you try resetting your router and then setting it up again.

Sorry was away - issue got sorted - I believe it was some sort of Telkom issue - got sorted by itself later in the day.

If I want to cancel my subscription this month, but I downgrade to the 1Mbps package first, does that mean I will pay R339 for April which is essentially my month's notice?

You just made me wonder... Mweb forces everyone to pay for an additional month when cancelling, because they don't understand the legal definition of a calendar month. I wonder if you could downgrade your account to the cheapest available from the first of the next month, and then give notice to the cancellations department. At least you lose less money.

That is a good question, I can not see that there would be anything wrong with doing so.

You would however be charged pro rata from the date that you downgrade the package.
 
Hey MWEB Giuy,
I'm a 2meg all inclusive customer and I want to upgrade my product to 4meg NOW! I phoned your sales center and they tell me I've got to send an email to a department who can only do the upgrade on maybe Monday (they don't work on weekends) and that it could take 10 working days to complete? Is this true?

Why is it that I could phone Telkom right now and have my line speed upgraded to 4meg in 5 minutes flat? But with Mweb you can't do this.

This is really very poor service, particular when customers want to spend more money on products you can't provide instantly like you should be doing. Does it bother Mweb that Telkom and every other ISP have a better response in terms of upgrading products and line speed upgrades? Shocking.

We do have a department that is here that can assist you with the upgrade.

I can arrange for you to be contacted.

Just one thing though.

We will have to send Telkom a request to upgrade your line from up to 2Mb to a up to 4Mb account and that part can take up to 10 days to complete

Provide me with a speed test result and a trace route to a local and international site.

It's working better again now. I dunno wtf it is, but it keeps going deathly slow and then coming back a while later. It's happening quite a lot. If the problem isn't on your side, could it be some issue with Telkom?
