It seem that MWEB fixed their network problems.

Everything seem to work about fine for the first time since the 16th of August.

Have not tested Steam, but everything else are fine.

Filesonic a little erratic, but working again.

Thanks MWEB!

Still waiting for our line to be fixed (since the 3'rd).

Evening mika1000, thank you very much for the feedback.

Still waiting for our line to be fixed (since the 3'rd).

Evening AstroTurf, Is there an MWEB consultant assisting you with your query? If yes, please provide me his name via inbox messaging and I will follow up with the person in question.

Hi Mweb Guy, Pretty sure you are already assisting me via facebook :) Thank you.
For interest sake, the line went up to .74Mbps this morning but has gone back down to .6 since around 12 pm (line dropped completely, when it came back on it was much slower).

edit: I know for a fact the issue is not with Mweb, it's Telkom. Just wish we could get it fixed already. No way to muscle Telkom and no way to get them to work like professionals I know, just wish they would get someone to concentrate on this until it is resolved.
Had a guy from Telkom in CT Promise me he would answer his calls when I call him (from past experience I know Telkom support give you a phone number and it works till they can't fix the problem then they simply ignore your calls), He did for 2 days, since then whenever I try call him it's back to telkoms usual tactics, Phone rings till it times out.

everything are fine, exept some filesonic files still time out, while others download, but about 5000% better than this morning. what puzzles me is that many users still has no or very little downloads. that i dont understand at all.

i dream of the days when had downloads running at 460Kb/s from 4 pm!

I think they should have a Network meter like Eishkom has on the SABC news indicating the state of the power Grid!

I think we should start a new thread for MWEB uncapped complains to go with their increased BW to their network that will be introduced in this weekend

0kbps downloads.
NO filesonic etc.
SLOW email.
SLOWER facebook and youtube.
NO steam.

it seem that everything are back to normal, as for the past two weeks. yesterday must have been a fluke...

Bit of an update:
They finally sent some guys to us again today from Telkom.
Did there tests and told me that I am to far from the exchange (again, 5.6KM's).
Asked em to try test the distance from the exchange of another line and see if that is not possibly a bit better. Came back as 3.6KM's
They swapped the two lines for me (dsl and normal line), came back, tested it again and suddenly this 3.6km's turns to 7.6km's
Guy went out and did something to it, now it's back to saying 5.6km's but we have absolutely no internet on the adsl any more.

Coming back again tomorrow.

The guy who went out took hold of the cable in each hand, pulled really really hard, thereby moving your place closer to the exchange.

Unfortunately, when he let go and came inside, it reverted to its original position.

Seems like parts are back to normal. Already downloaded 20GB of stuff today. :) all the items that are queued for the past 2 weeks

This begs the question:

Did it ever REALLY WORK?
