Hi There,

I am hoping Mweb_Guy or Will@Mweb will find this.

I just ordered an Mweb Uncapped VPS (Option 3, 2 vCPU's, 2GB Ram, 50GB HDD).

What I wanted to know is what sort of specifications do these virtual machines have? That is, what systems are these VM's run on?

Its all good and proper knowing I have two cores, but what sort of oomph are they gonna provide me?

Also, how long does it take to activate. I have had confirmation that all is settled and I just need to wait for Login Details etc.. Having worked with VPS's myself in the past I know it does not take very long.

Thanks for all the help.

Kind Regards

Guess no one can help me.. In the interests of a clean forum, could a mod delete this thread. Thanks :)

Thanks for the great service Mweb, Mweb Guy and in particular Junaid Khan the sales consultant that helped me.

Hi Shebam, Glad to see your happy with the VPN.
I had a meeting with MWeb the other day regarding these packages. My problem I have is the fact that Outbound Data needs to be more than Inbound Data, or they'll cancel the contract with you.
How does this effect you?
What I don't know is how they decide on what will be inbound and outbound protocols?
Do they offer you a update report on usage?
Initially for instance most usage will be incoming data...

The immediate thought that comes to mind is that you will then use this as a download server - this is against their T.O.S, and they will
terminate your contract if you are in breach of these conditions.

We measure the throughput on the server with a few monitoring tools 'networx' being one

Nope not at all...The only protocols that I'll be running will be www, ftp, smtp, pop, DNS etc.
Will purely be used for Website & Email hosting solution and FTP Server.

www – will be 70% Outbound
FTP – 80% of the time data will be inbound
My confusion is regarding the mail.
For Pop to work, my clients mail will be received by the server(Inbound Data) and then client will download the mail onto there local PC’s(Outbound Data)
And visa versa for SMTP? Or will SMTP purely be a relay?
