Mweb Uncapped vs GamCo Uncapped

Hi Guys.

I'm looking at getting an uncapped account, mainly for video streaming (Hulu, Netflix, etc) as well as NZB's and stuff.

I'm currently looking at either Mweb 4Mbps and GamCo 4Mbps (The non-IS one they have for R 477)

I read a review on outsource something (Some SA website) that compared a bunch of accounts and GamCo seemed to come out tops.

I just want to see if you guys have any opinions on these accounts? Also I see the GamCo has a 10Mbps uncapped account for R 796, which seems a lot cheaper than the other 10Mbps accounts I found, any thoughts on this account ... anyone using it?

Also, anyone know what the support is on these accounts for VPN? I will obviously be using one to watch the mentioned services ... i.e. Are VPN's shaped badly, medium, or not at all?

Also, I see you can get an Mweb Uncapped test account ... how do I get this, do I just sign up? And how long is the test account for? 1 day, 1 week, 1 month?

Nope, never had uncapped before and never used openweb. Once upon a time when I had Digital Addiction, I had an access uncapped express account ... but I used that for mainly business, never streaming.

Well, i haven't tried the Hulu/Netflix via VPN thing in awhile. At some point WebAfrica was rated to have the fastest international speeds and even then Hulu & Netflix was frustrating as hell. Streaming via VPN on international bandwidth will , as far as i'm concerned, not make you happy, ESPECIALLY not on an uncapped product.

Simply put, go to imdb.com (do it from there since sites like youtube tends to give a false indication of international streaming ability) and stream some trailers at 720p , it sucks. On 480p you might get by without buffering...and this is WITHOUT a VPN . Now Netflix i know can "pre-buffer" , which helps, but after waiting 30 minutes for the "pre-buffer" you will really start to wonder why exactly you are streaming in the first place?

Hulu is another ballgame since they have advertisements galore, so you can't buffer past the adverts, which means every few minutes your buffer gets reset when you hit the adverts, resulting in hitting a nice buffering during and after adverts...ugh....it gets old very fast.

On a more positive note , NZBs are great on Mweb Uncapped, it's full speed all the way (4Mbps), that is from Mweb's own news server as well as international news servers.

Thanks for the reply diabolus ... those are all issues I was worried about. Hulu and NetFlix aren't the end of the world, but they would be nice ... I will mainly be using NZB's ... Want to build up a collection of both old and new series for my mom to convince her that a home media centre is better than DSTV :P ... I need to make a virtual TCM :P

@MWEB Guy - Thanks, I will send you a PM at the end of my current audit ... right now I'm swamped at work, and won't really have time to test the account. I'm just doing the research. But I'll definitely give you a bell :)
