South African mobile social network, Mxit, has appointed Francois Swart as its chief executive officer.

Earlier this month (September 2012), research conducted by World Wide Worx and Fuseware revealed that Mxit’s user base had grown to 7.4 million, up from 6.95 million in August 2012, using a 30-day metric.
