Yeah but if only the Mxit Team would open External Jabber communication again then we could have "Mxit" on the iPhone...
we would just get a jabber account, add the numbers as [email protected], then sign in using a web-based jabber messenger such as beejive.com http://www.beejive.com/
Have no idea why they arent enabling Jabber support again though...
well have to wait and see what the mxit team decides then...
You could try searching for a Java emulator or something of same sort on the internet, though you will most likely need to jailbreak your iPhone in order to get one of those applications working. You could then run Mxit using the emulator.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
in the meanwhile, with the iPhone 3G arriving soon, and multitudes using the old iphone, people could look at creating a Gtalk account with google (talk.google.com) and then navigating to talk.google.com on their iphone where they can add mxit contacts by adding new contacts with <telephonenumber>@mxit.co.za . It's just like adding a mxit contact, albeit on gtalk, and it works. This is because both services are 'jabber' based. It does mean re-inviting all your previous contacts though.
Hi guys
I just got an Apple iPhone and need to get mxit on it... How do you download something like Google talk onto your iphone? I visited talk.google.com and when I press the DOWNLOAD link it says: Safari cannot Download this file!
PLS ADVISE!
