MXit gets a makeover

They still need one important feature: a mandatory spelling test every 2 days. Afrikaans or English, your choice, but if you fail, you're automatically de-registered.

Let's hope the new look addresses two issues I have on my BB - the latest version doesn't instal and when I invite friends and they haven't accepted my friend request the invites always appear on the main UI and there is no way to hide or withdraw the invitations...and an invisible mode will also be most welcome.

Best to post problems & suggestions on mxit forum where they will recieve the needed attention, unless we have mxit developers trolling mybb ;)

Do you get any error messages when you try to install MXit?

The invite will always stay visible. If you want to remove outgoing invites, you can delete the invite as you would remove a normal contact.

This has been discussed many times before. It is not known yet when or if this feature will be added.

From what my female friends are saying the new MXIT is very irratating - because they have this 'search' feature now or something and random dodgy guys are adding them.

MXit is actually showing growth in subscriber numbers. They have the biggest subscriber base of any social network locally (over 10M). Although there's BBM/WhatApp and other IM options, MXit offers a lot more than that with other activities (games, counselling, education programs, etc.).

Mxit here to stay unless Vodacom, Cell C and MTN start cutting data prices drastically, R2/mb ridiculous

No error message but after installing Mxit 5.9.4 and putting my credentials I have to enter some numbers or verification code of some sort and my phone can't scroll down to the entry field for that code.this has happened on my BB 9500 and BB 9300 3G

I assume you still have OS 4.x on these phones? We will be adding support for Blackberry OS 4.x in the next release of MXit V6. With MXit V6 the above mentioned bugs will be resolved. Announcements will be made on the MXit forum when the new version is available: http://forum.mxit.com

Your friends can choose to be excluded from the search and suggestion results, this can be disabled in your profile.

The Blackberry Storm was running on OS5 and the the 9300 which I have now is running on 6.0.2475 (this is the Vodafone version, I only upgraded thinking the Mxit update glitch was OS specific.

The symptoms you described was related to MXit v5.9.4, do you have the above mentioned symptoms with MXit V6?

V6 is honestly the worst version I've dealt with. It crashes on average every 10min on my N8

Edit: It is ALLOT more touch friendly but is still laggy when scrolling down the contact list
