My 135i

... it makes no sense what so ever as DSC is meant to prevent the wheels from losing it ... LOL

i floored the car plenty of times in first and it would not do this with DSC on, there has been to my recollection only one revision of that gearbox, unless a new revision has cmoe out that does this, but still its does not make sense at all that you launch a car with traction control on ... (traction control is trying to prevent your wheels from going all crazy)

do you have the M-Drive? ... maybe that allows this, have to see it to believe it ...

Dont have M drive... its not really a launch as such, and it does not spin too much, traction control does light up though. think of it as a quick pull away.. ??

mmm ... interesting, maybe they do have another revision of that box ... if i do buy another DCT will be sure to try it out ...

adamr - I would recommend re-mapping your 135i with FRC... You can get an easy 30+kw and this will be safe for the car.

You will be eating the new M3 for breakfast! You probably already do up here in JHB...

i must admit was always a bit apprehensive if a 135i came next to me when i had the M3 ... but the DCT is mighty quick, did race a 335i and maybe first gear he is a little with me, like at my mirror, and after that im pulling and pulling hard ... as it stands i think the DCT M3 is still quicker than a 135i ... the torque on a 135i is deceiving ... M3 has legs ... it just keeps getting faster and faster where the 135i loses steam quickly ....

if it is chipped yes, the 135i, or even a heavy 335i convertible will be quicker ... no doubt ...reason why ///M is going FI

What about at the coast. ?? chipped 135/ 335 against a M3 ??

That would be the 135, with possible 240kw, against the m3 309kw ???

Would be good... :)

It would be good, but you should know that the 35 motor is easily modded, and the fact that it's a twin-turbo plays a big role! The M3 should get a 15%+ at the coast, but I still rate a 135 with about R15 000 of mods could still eat it at the coast ;) I'm talking short distances.. The M3 after 4th gear opens up.... And then all your fun is over...

Im posting some 0-200 times.. from http://www.germancarzone.com/test-data/28622-0-200km-h-times.html

The m3 is in the 15's a bit quicker then a R8. (Not sure if this is a m3 DCT or not the DCT is 1 second quicker to 200 then the manual. )

the 135 is in the 19.6s

Has anyone trully seen these cars race, not a street story etc.. a true setup race, with 2 similar drivers ?? (Doubt it since racing would ruin our motorplans ??)

yes, youtube has a nice vid, M5 board has good videos ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r31eVKNtNoc

and from experience with the M3 for almost a year, its the faster car, stock vs stock, even from a pull off ... chipped i agree a different story ...

i raced a 335i convertible with my DCT on the highway from 100km/h ... by the time i was doing crazy speeds that 335i was ... no lies maybe a 1km behind ....
