My 4mb acting like a 512 ?!!

Hey

2 days ago my 4mb connection started acting like a 512... speeds never go faster than 55kb/s.
I've tried different accounts... saix / is .. no change...
Checked the router settings... seems 2 be sync'd at 4096...
It's not netlimiter or something like that neither...
Everything works fine but im not getting the speeds I should...

Any ideas what this could be?
 
I also experience the same on my 4mb line but it makes up for it per thread. For instance, I can have 6 different transfers taking place that all total say 300 to 400 KB/s.
 
Not here.. no matter how many threads i get a constant 55kb/s....
 
What ISP and what account? Maybe you have a 512 account from Mweb perhaps? Then you will only get 512 speeds even if it sync's @ 4096.

Could be an ISP issue.

What speeds do you get locally? If your local speeds also suffer from that kind of throughput then I would contact Telkom.
 
i had the same problem for the past few days!
i've tried axxesslite, axxess 626 (prepaid), webafrica prepaid and mweb uncapped....my speedtest does not go over 1.8MB and that's at 12:00 at night...

and this is to pretoria...

Webafrica unshaped to joburg is even worse....but i know they are doing some maintenance...


it's not the line as multithreaded i get 400KB....but the no all things are multi threaded....my youtube and general browsing sucks...eish
 
Guys...I feel your pain ....now imagine how painful it is when you are on a 384k like me... :(

At least you getting 55k which is still better than 1.4k - 3.8k
 
The same here and has been this way for around 3 weeks and Telkom too dumb to find the fault .
Problem is I cant just change to Netspace or Bigpond or so many to choose from .
Im starting to hate Telscum
