I have had the worst 6 weeks in my life.... man where to begin.
I had to have major sinus surgery roughly six weeks ago. I am a chronic sinusitis sufferer and have now had 3 sinus surgeries in the last 18 years. This last one was an absolute beetch. To get to my top frontal sinus passages which were +85% blocked, they had to drill holes through my forehead. At the same time my deviated septum was broken and reset correctly. Of course the kicker here is I had cancer 3 years ago and went through hectic radiation therapy on the right side of my face and neck. This has resulted in massive scar tissue in my sinuses and the skin / membranes are super thin. So healing is taking a long time...
Then exactly 4 weeks ago, my wife who was on a long term liver treatment program, fell very ill. Unfortunately over a period of 48 hours her liver failed and she passed away. This was like my whole world just crumbled beneath me, I was in no way prepared for this... dealing with a death of a spouse is not easy. I struggle every day. Its the worst thing on earth to have to sit down with the 7yr old laaitjie and explain how mommy is with the angels in heaven...She was just 34yrs old.
The last 4 weeks have been a blur of paperwork, people, family and tears. All I can say is my family and her family have been wonderful. I have hung in there and they have supported me.
Aaand yesterday, I decided I need to take my wifes car out for a drive, its been in the garage unused since her passing. I took my son with the family on a Steam Train ride, only to get back to find a R600 fine for having an expired license disk. In all the rush and turmoil, I forgot to cut the new one out and put it on the windscreen. Yes I do have a 2014 disk, I put it in this morning before coming to work. Sometimes life can be cruel!
Heres hoping 2014 will be sooo much better....
