Jees :(...

That is horrible.. I will def not be saying I had a crap year after reading about yours :(...

Sorry for your loss bud. No words can begin to describe what you must be feeling. I cant but help to think about your son. Chin up and here's hoping and praying that 2014 will be a golden year for you and your family.

So sorry to hear about your loss and the pain that has gone with it all. My deepest sympathy. If times get really tough and you feel utterly down, it may perhaps help you to remind yourself: This, too, will pass. Good luck and strongs for the coming year.

Condolences sir. May the time ahead be better than you could have dreamed of.

Wow, right before Christmas too. Condolences for your loss :( The 'firsts' are always the hardest.

I have had the worst 6 weeks in my life.... man where to begin.

I had to have major sinus surgery roughly six weeks ago. I am a chronic sinusitis sufferer and have now had 3 sinus surgeries in the last 18 years. This last one was an absolute beetch. To get to my top frontal sinus passages which were +85% blocked, they had to drill holes through my forehead. At the same time my deviated septum was broken and reset correctly. Of course the kicker here is I had cancer 3 years ago and went through hectic radiation therapy on the right side of my face and neck. This has resulted in massive scar tissue in my sinuses and the skin / membranes are super thin. So healing is taking a long time...

Then exactly 4 weeks ago, my wife who was on a long term liver treatment program, fell very ill. Unfortunately over a period of 48 hours her liver failed and she passed away. This was like my whole world just crumbled beneath me, I was in no way prepared for this... dealing with a death of a spouse is not easy. I struggle every day. Its the worst thing on earth to have to sit down with the 7yr old laaitjie and explain how mommy is with the angels in heaven... She was just 34yrs old.

The last 4 weeks have been a blur of paperwork, people, family and tears. All I can say is my family and her family have been wonderful. I have hung in there and they have supported me.

Aaand yesterday, I decided I need to take my wifes car out for a drive, its been in the garage unused since her passing. I took my son with the family on a Steam Train ride, only to get back to find a R600 fine for having an expired license disk. In all the rush and turmoil, I forgot to cut the new one out and put it on the windscreen. Yes I do have a 2014 disk, I put it in this morning before coming to work. Sometimes life can be cruel!

Heres hoping 2014 will be sooo much better....

My deepest thoughts and condolences are with you.I can feel the pain.I thought I was having a bad year and little similarity but always shows there is somebody worse off ...had the septum op to do a ear op as lost some hearing and my father passed away all in 6 months but I only I have to deal with it and not any children like in your case.

Regards to wills etc as we doing my dads estate...Yes have everything stored in a accessible place with all policy details etc.Regards to trust services. We found out the hard way if you have the will with a private clients/trust company and the private clients are co executors of will ,then make sure the fee is negotiated before .The trust company wont give up(cant think of legal term) the will and you have to use them and then you dont have much scope to negotiate (Say eg get a lawyer friend to do the estate).Being co executor does not mean you can choose where you want the will done if the trust company has agreed to do the will before the death.Just something to be aware of if you have co executors.
