Apology accepted, please be as gracious as to accept mine as well. I admit that certain areas are poorer than others, but the window pane comment was what got my hackles up.

One of the main points of MyAdsl is to get broadband access accessible to everyone, everywhere at a reasonable cost. If you then start excluding certain areas because of unfounded preconceived perceptions of the wealth of these areas we might as well cancel the MyAdsl process right now whether it be ADSL or MyWireless. Because to do that is the equivalent of excluding someone based on race and we all know where that took us don’t we.

No problemo :-) I think it will be great once they have every sqaure meter of SA covered.

As an interesting note, our expenses have dropped by R 500 since getting mywireless. Damn amazing!!

I think this service is going to revolutionise the e-economy in SA.
 
My signal comes from tower 110 Helderkruin, I am not sure how far the signal will reach in Krugerdorp.

Cool. The uncertainty of the whole ping issue at this moment excludes me from moving over to MyWireless as I am an avid online gamer so am still on ADSL. :-( No cost savings for me.

WHOOHOOOO! Credit check is complete and application has been aproved. Now I have to wait till monday to get in touch with the delivery guys, Sentech you guys rule... i e-mailed them about the application and within 10min i had a reply! Telkom suck my big white ass im leaving you, yes its been fun NOT! but now its time to go foward i can no longer support your monoplistic, screw the customer attitude! Helllll YEA[8D]

Pretty much exactly the same timing as my application - 4 days from submission to credit check completion. 5 days for delivery (4 working days) - total time 9 days.
 
My first run with Fastcom.. I was supposed to get called today by the delivery people to arrange modem drop-off, didnt get a call all day so i called them at 3:30pm, they told me they would call the the guys who drop off the modems. I waited till 4:30 and called back, a woman picked up by accident as she told me they close at 4:30 and could not help me untill wednesday.. no Sentech bad bad bad doggie, if you say your department will call me then they better... so i will post on wednesday.[:D]

If you have no luck there, try get hold of Berco Express ( 011 457 3000 )

They are the delivery company being used.
 
Why does sentech use berco express? they delivered my modem to pietermaritzburg and was delayed :/
 
This is so silly, I call Sentech today and they say the credit check went through but it was declined for reasons that can not be given to me. Stupid and thanks for the e-mail u sent me, oh wait u didnt! Damn this is my fist let down, but i am going with buying the modem up front so yea.. Hold thumbs guys thanks.[:D]

The reality is, as has been said here above, the more you go into and out of debt, the better your credit rating.

When it comes down to it, your credit rating is based on whether you pay back debt or not.

The more you can go into and out of debt, the more willing companies are to give you credit.

It makes sense when you think about it from a cold and real perspective !

if anyone in Krugersdorp (for those that are home-schooling, that's in Gauteng) wants to connect - don't let the map fool you.

a friend of mine wanted to get connected, but the call centre told him he's not covered

&lt;bitch&gt;hark! the call centre people don't know what they're talking about!?! NO!!??&lt;/bitch&gt;

aaanyway. we took my modem to his place, cantenna and all, and he got FOUR lights! better freakin' signal than I get! *fume*

so, if you can, get a friend with sentech to come and test, whether the map says you're covered or not...

I haven't lost my mind... It's backed up on disk somewhere...
