My computer has caught virus, what should I do now? I'm typing this question from another computer btw.
So my computer has caught virus and all my icons from my computer has been deleted, including the internet explorer icon. So I use the google chrome to install the document recovery folder and halfway through installing that document my computer suddenly restart by itself then after the computer restarts by itself it's unable to start windows anymore.

HOW?! What should I do now? Are there any ways I can "save" my computer?
Omg! Or am I supposed to buy a new computer now? Help???!!

Turn it off and do not turn it on again.
Take it to somebody who knows how to fix it.

Somebody else should perhaps try a system restore.
Or, go into windows in safe mode with an av tool and clean the virus.
Please dont try ANYTHING yourself

1. Download Malwarebyes then put it on a flash drive.

2. Go into safe mode on your Pc by repeatedly pushing F8 while it's booting, or read this if you need help with this step.

3. Connect the flash drive to your Pc and install Malwarebytes.

4. Open Malwarebytes and then tell it to do a Full Scan.

5. When it's finished remove anything that it finds and restart your Pc.

If you need more help you can read the following:

If you Pc still doesn't come right take it to a Nerd/Geek/IT Guru/Pc shop. :)

//sigh

as you are inserting the flashdrive into an infected PC the drive also gets infected until you clean it. The OP says that the virusses are "hiding" his files....

Thought he was just talking about his desktop, and I'm yet to see a virus do anything that would affect me from installing malwarebytes while in safe mode.

Man, thanks for giving me such a good laugh! :D

1. Update/install your antivirus program on the computer you are using now.
2. Remove the hard drive from the infected computer.
3. Install the infected hard drive in the "good" computer.
4. Run your updated antivirus program on the infected drive.
5. After removing all viruses (may take several scans), remove the infected (hopefully now clean) hard drive and reinstall in the old computer.
