My apology if this has been discussed on here before - but things aren't adding up....
I have been trying to figure out how I can possibly be burning through 1 to 1.5Gb of data per week, doing basic office work and visiting a few websites - no major downloads, no porn, none of that... Last night I installed a bandwidth meter to monitor this - it reports that I used 1Mb overnight (a few emails came in), BUT my Cell C connector says I used 57Mb........!! How is that possible? And that was just a small test...
And NO, I have nothing running in the background that is using data, otherwise the bandwidth meter would have picked that up... I also have a friend who recently swapped over from 8ta - he also can't believe how quickly his data with Cell C 'disappears'... something fishy is going on here..?? or am I imagining things..?

If this is true then it is really sad. just when we thought there is a good alternative than the yellow and red.

I don't use Cell C connector, but I think it is not asking Cell C for data usage, but query modem statistics which are accurate. It is why I would rather trust Connector.
If your modem is made by Huawei, use MDMA for querying modem statistics. Also for current session Windows dialup connection provide sufficient statistics for data usage.

i use my e173 8ta modem on cellc , then checking my usage within the connection properties on windowz itself . its alot more accurate as you say. ive tried 3rd party and the 8ta dashboard in the past , it dont add up man

Nope, I'm using the basic 'Check' account balance in Cell C connector - which shows my amount of data remaining - this morning again, I received about 20 emails - it reckons I've used up 50Mb...!!
Unless there is a logical explanation for this - to me this is on the verge of blatant fraud/theft....

You can't say it is a fraud, unless you verify it as per my first post.

Yes, that is why I said 'Unless there is a logical explanation for this - to me this is on the verge of blatant fraud/theft..
I didn't say it was......

There is logical explanation indeed, but you don't listen, so how you can find it out?
