It looks as if your experience with telkom has been less than satisfactory according to your standards. Why not cancel and go with wimax, iburst etc as you first suggested and stop stressing yourself out with telkom and allowing them to ruin your weekend/s. One of those other providers advertise connection within 24 hours...your problem solved, so don't just say it, do it.

Was getting error 815...
I spoke to the manager in CT and he says the line fault is resolved BUT now my port is crossed?!!!! WTF will it never end!

Ah!!! your problem is windows vista 
reset your modem to factory settings see if u connect after that if it still fails call telkom and log error 678 with them they may want to recreate the service let them it may help but if still no luck then report the problem as error 678. N.B. this could be an indication of a faulty modem
N.B. this error can also come up if u did not setup the modem in bridge mode correctly
P.S. error 815 is the same as error 678 its the vista version of the same thing
unless u running windows XP in which case your modem is def at fault but I doubt u running XP
