If u feel morally obliged, inform the dealership of your position/stance, and inform them that you're not paying.
Technically the bill should be on your head, if it's on theirs, pay the R700, and not another cent.

Pay off what is owed in the previous owner's name, then don't pay from then on.
The previous owner should have nothing to do with our protest unless he is willingly engaging in it too. It isn't fair to him/her if you decide not to pay and the debt is in his/her name.
