hi all

i just would like to share my experience with rain 4G.

Location: Umhlanga Ridge, KwaZulu Natal

So i decided to get rain during level 5, and the day i got it , it was a complete failure, refused to work in my LTE Tablet, Internal Model on my Lenovo T460s, Dell 5500 which are decent devices, MTN 4G Works perfect in them.

after speaking to a friend who was getting 1mbps yet his neighbor was getting 10mbps, and the only difference apart from location was the device...

i ended up getting a B315 ... and now i get 7-10mbps.... i have managed to download 270gb from the 1st. (17days)
somewhere along the line someone with a b525 was having issues and we decided to test the b315 without the two antennas...
the signal was gone, barely getting 1 bar with poor speeds.

so my advice before you give up... get a compatible device and make sure it has antenna's.

How did you position the two paddle antennas?

I think they are supposed to be adjusted perpendicular to one another i.e. the left antenna should be at an angle of -45 degrees from the upright position while the right should be at +45 degrees from the upright position to improve de-correlation. This may not always result in the best reception in practice though!

The bottom pic shows how the antennas should be adjusted on a B618 where there is very little space between them.

I think I might buy a pair of these TS9 antennas for my B618 for $2 and give them a try.

I used the Rain Sim Card in an LG G4 cellphone and hot spotted.Download speeds were pretty good.I normally got around the 10mb in speed which is fine( for me)for 19 hours of uncapped.
