I've always been stuck on pre paid because I wanted to spend as little as possible.

But with work I find it will be easier if I could get a statement at the end of the month and have my boss pay me back the calls and sms messages I used for work..

I heard that most cellphone contracts don't actually have any free phones since the costs of the phone are subsidised by the monthly charge.

But some guy at work told me that he has a contract with cellc where he pays R50 a month and got a free phone + R50 airtime to spend every month.

That doesn't sound too bad, anyone can verify this or perhaps give me some tips when looking out for a buggeroo 24month contract =\

Cheers!

MTN are currently offering the Samsung Star for R69 per month (but you have to add CLI and Itemised billing) on their Anytime 100 contracts which give you R100 airtime.
I think the same contract is a few rands cheaper (after adding CLI) at Altech Autopage.

Most instances (R50-150) it's like the same as paying for the airtime/minutes anyways, with a marginal difference.

how much do you spend in a month?

You could also save a few rand by going for a higher than entry level package. You get better call rates the higher the package you take. So look at all avail options before signing.

I Don't phone a lot at all.. 50rand would suit me just fine ^^

Hi there.... I also recently moved over to contract. Its great the Top Up packages with airtime are the best if you make calls, send sms's and browse the web.

I think you should stay away from Cell C though and rather go for Vodacom, their service is better and the warranty on the phones are two years. I am getting a Nokia 2700 which has basic features on a Top Up 49 with a payin of R79. Sure the phone is not free but you getting R49 airtime and a relatively decent phone. The same phone on a Top Up 75 is free.
