Hi all,

I've spent much of the morning trying to figure out how to flash my S4.
I've gotten to a point where I think it should be working, but it's not.

In Odin Mode it says:

ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-I9500
CURRENT BINARY: CUSTOM
CURRENT STATUS: CUSTOM
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 1
AP SWREV: A3

I'm trying to flash it with Omega v24 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55331912&postcount=5711) which I've downloaded and slapped onto the SD card of my phone.
I boot using the up arrow, power and home keys and try and apply the Omega update, it starts then gives a signature error but doesn't say it failed.
Takes about 5 minutes or so and then reboots but as far as I can tell, it didn't work right because Vodacom background, seems the phone is 'back to default'

Can I get some assistance please.

More information:

I used: CF-Auto-Root-ja3g-ja3gxx-gti9500 along with the Odein3 v3.07 (I do have 3.10)

Also, I've started this thread because the other thread, S4 related is just too busy with information that is not relevant to this.

I have recently flashed Omega V23 to my S4 with no issues at all..
What i found the best was to do the following:

1) Install a custom recovery mod
2) Copy the Omega ROM to your SD Card
3) Before you Install do a full backup (nandroid backup) of your current ROM to SD Card in the Recovery
4) Factory Wipe / data reset in recovery, Wipe cache, wipe davlik cache. (This is vital, to wipe all the cache)
5) Install Omega Rom directly from Recovery
6) Wait a minute or 2
7) Your phone will reboot into the Omega setup (Here you can deselect all bloatware).
8) Once done your phone will reboot into your new Omega Rom..

PS The only thing odin was useful for was Auto Root and to install the custom recovery..
Here is a link I used

Let me know how you go..

You've missed the recovery step.

You've rooted and now are trying to use ODIN to install a ROM. You need to use ODIN to install a recovery ROM then use the recovery to flash a ROM on.

I suggest using Philz Touch recovery. Works like a charm.

Then you will be able to flash your ROMs.

Everything is here for the Philz Recovery I also used, dam good recovery works like a charm!

I hate it when this happens...

Okay, so I woke up at 5am (My off day! or at least, till 6pm) and bam, I've been struggling non stop.
I did everything (via YouTube videos) and such that was expected of me, and nothing worked or at least, I kept on getting to the point where the phone was reset to a point where it looked like I was getting no where.
I then decided to ask for help (this thread) and then decided to try 1 more thing; I downloaded GT-I9500-CWM-6.0.4.6 and used Odin v3.10.

It's finally doing what it's supposed to be doing!

Joh! No words!

Glad you sorted!
