Another solution is having a bowl with hot water for the ice cream spoon.

This seems like white people problems for which white people also made different solutions, but this lady just hates her son. Maybe she hates the father and is taking it out on the child.

I use a fork if it is particularly hard. With a smaller surface area, less force is needed. Physics is your friend folks

I make my own ice cream with an electric whisk. I line a loaf tin with paper and use that to set the ice cream in the freezer. When set remove the ice cream and cut into slices and then put in a plastic dish or bag and back in the freezer. No more scooping ice cream.

You can do the same for store bought ice cream. Make sure it is well frozen then run the sealed tub under the hot tap. The whole thing then comes out as a single block. Cut it up and put it all back and freeze.
