My Mac Workspace - Whats yours?

Hi folks - thought Id just share my space setup.

Mac:
MacBook Pro 15-inch Retina 16GB Ram, 512 Flash SSD

Display:
Dell 27-inch 2560 x 1440

Storage:
2TB Thunderbolt - Video editing using Final Cut Pro X
3TB Time Machine - Backup
2TB Storage - Movies, Music, Pictures, Books, Downloads etc etc
512GB onboard - Home Folder, Work

Whats your setup?

LOL I like. When im away visiting Joburg, Durbs or Cape - then of course the beachfront hotels become my office, wink wink.
 
Nice Shardie, pretty cool setup. Guessing you're a video editor by trade, making it very worth while to own all that kit. My setup goes a little beyond my 'Workspace' - I unfortunately can't use a MBP at work, have to stick to Windoze laptops.

I've got a 13" MBP Retina 256GB, 8Gig, with a 2TB 2.5" USB 3.0 - which I use on a day to day.

Setup my old iMac in the study, connect a 2TB external to it and use AirVideo to stream to my AppleTV via my iPhone or iPad mini. Makes it quite easy.

Been considering a really nice screen, what that Dell 27" set you back? Does your macbook not overheat closed and sitting in stand like that? I know it looks really cool, but I read a while back its not good for the machine?
 
cool setup but i didn't see the point of having a notebook if you are going to keep it hooked up to an external display and keyboard all the time?
Why didn't u just get a 27inch iMac instead?

Think the beach front comment makes it clear he does need to travel with the laptop too.

Hi Thanx

Yes I do video editing, graphic design and web development.... amongst other arty things. I also have a old iMac 15-inch G4 hooked up to my LAN and it also has AirVideo HD on it with an external 2TB with movies. Nice piece of software.

The Dell set me back R5k buti bought it second hand 2 years ago. Dell has replaced it FREE as it was abit faulty. I cannot afford a Apple Display right now so the Dell works perfect at a resolution of 2560 x 1440.

The MacBook Pro does NOT even heat up at all, Ive never heard the fans come on even while doing a Final Cut Pro render. I dont mind it closed as I amd going to get a 2nd 19-inch monitor and use it connected with HDMI - just for browsing and other stuff.

Hi - Like I said - I do travel so a desktop really doesn't work for me. Sometimes I go to clients and need to take my laptop. Cant see me haling around a 27-inch computer - hehe. I once had a G5 and a Macbook Pro but having two machines doesn't really work - keeping them synced etc etc etc - the MacBook Pro's todays are really fast and are perfect even for high end video editing.

Run's better than Mavericks for me, only program I have had issues with was crossover and viber.
I'm enjoying it.

I'm actually fighting to get a project so I can develop on it, until then it is only used to buy music on iTunes.
