Oke everybody knows about my woes. There is about 20 people living there and everything that goes with this
http://www.joburg-archive.co.za/2009/pdfs/draft_commune_policy09.pdf

A dwelling house shall not be occupied by more than one family together with not more than
four other persons who shall live together with the family. Under such circumstances the
letting/leasing of habitable rooms is not permitted unless the owner, who resides permanently
in the house rents out habitable rooms to a maximum of four tenants

Where the homeowner rents out bedrooms in the main house or in the subsidiary
dwelling to one, two, three or four tenants, it is not necessary to apply for consent for a
commune, provided that the owner:
o Resides permanently on the said property.
o Obtains a health permit
o Adheres to standards as contained in this policy
Failure to comply shall result in the closure of the establishment through law enforcement.
The above is without prejudice to powers of the Council derived from any other law or the
applicable Town Planning Scheme

They are breaking the law. Where do i complain to? start?
And above all i'm scared shytless of these people that are constantly watching me. How do i protect myself?

a) Why haven't you complained (other than this forum) and get it fixed yet
b) If you're scared for your life, see a) ????!!!?!?!!!?!?!?!
c) Get a gun

I remember something about contacting your local-area government representative and then submitting a formal complaint through that person. As soon as I get my internets sorted out I'll try to help you.
Where on your planet is the place you live Mila - as in ... municipal region?

1. I did complain they sorted tthat the last two months more people moved in.
2. See one. And the way my blood is boiling i'm scared i start using the gun on the neighbours
3. Have a gun.

Spiderz my property value is decreacing and nobody wants to buy next to hooligans. :(

This is not helping complaining to the local goverment is just keeping them in line for a few months and then they do as they please. There is no follow up visits.
And yes after being told that i'm horrible and the poor people just wants a roof over their heads i felt guilty for being "a racist" as i was called. No more. The people living there has no consideration for anybody, so mine has stopped too.

So i want a more permanent solution. I want the home owner to be responsible for his property. And if he can not the bank should take the property back.

Thanks.

Mila I really feel for you. I also have neighbours from hell. The owner upstairs moved away and some Zimbabwean scum are renting from him. I have complained about the noise and damage they have caused only to end up with vomit on my car and raw eggs thrown against my sliding door. I'm too scared to complain to them now because they will damage my car and then I'm stuck with a huge bill. Luckily, in my case I have become a trustee and got other neighbours to join the cause so it should end some time. In you case I would do what davemc suggested and contact a local government rep in your municipality with a formal complaint. Chat to other neighbours and get a petition together. I'm sure you will find you have many people thinking the same thing as you. I hope it all works out for you!!

Sensorei has a plan there, get the neighbours together from there you form a group and refuse to pay rates to the council until it is sorted out, to keep it legal you all still pay your rates into a holding account. It has been done before and succesfully to remove illegal squaters in southern suburbs.

1. Go to bottle store buy a quart of yummy beer, or wine if you are that way inclined.
2. Go to Checkers, buy some dusting cloths.
3. On the way home grab about 2 litres of petrol
4. Get home enjoy the wine with some good music (I find Koos Kombuis helps)
5. When the bottle is finished fill with petrol.
6. Roll dusting cloth into a snake like shape to use as a wick insert into bottle light, and then chuck it over the wall.

This has helped me in a few neighbourly disputes :D

Alternatively start keeping a log of the exact times things happen, try and get photographic evidence of their transgressions. Keep the log for about a month then do as others have suggested and take it to your local rep/politcian.

I've used this a few times having lived with and next door to scummy people who are inconsiderate and everytime they have been moved on by the council to annoy someone else or they have been evicted into the street. Then again I live in a 1st world country :D

Mila, you have a gun?

Awesome :D

Jip:D and it they start with their base music this weekend again i might use it on their hi fi's!! ( two separate groups play their music on high volume to drown each other out, then they scream over the noise and all i hear is holligans screaming and a thump thump for hours:mad:

I Think i'm losing it:o

What gun/caliber do you have?

I find it very empowering when girls stop being prissy and helpless.

Get some 2Step (poison from the dog poisoning squad) and a bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label (bit expensive but for a good reason). About a teaspoon full of 2Step in the JW, leave it on the wall on a weekend and by Monday all will be quiet.
