What on-the-road costs are levied by Renault dealers?

Some say that these levies are raised to pay for the fancy gifts.

Dynamic A/T (2018)

Premium for the Individual is just not worth it. Such a nice vehicle to ride in and so quiet and nimble compared to the Kadjar.
 
Yea don't know what it is about those Sandero's.. always find myself wanting one when I drive past them.

My sis took her MINI Countryman to BMW Sandton as the car was giving a low charge warning when she starts it. Took it in the morning on her way to work. They phoned her later to say they have to keep it overnight. Next day they phone her and tell her they are going to charge her R1600 for workshop hours and another R4000.00 for a new battery. She told them to fck off. She went to fetch the car and took it to battery center. It took the guy 15 seconds to test the battery to make sure it is indeed the battery that is going and another 20 minutes to install it for her. Cost of the test? R0.00. Cost of the new battery? R1300.00. She told him what BMW was going to charge her and the guy laughed. He said they often come and buy batteries there from him if they have run out.

I would have just gone straight to a battery shop in the first place as the car was saying exactly what was wrong with it without diagnostics required.

Same goes for brakes and suspension or any part that doesn't require dealer servicing.

Like @Drifter said, huge downgrade, but such a relieve not having to stress about my car anymore. :) Already missing some of the "nice-2-have's" from the Fiesta though. :D

Congrats to you as well. I was also considering that same Mazda, but ended up being above my budget.

See, what happend was that she went through a massive pothole in December and had to have new run flats put on (R6000.00 .... ja.....you can imagine how thrilled she was about that). So, gets the car to tyre place and leave it there while we go to the shops. 30 minutes later they phone her and inform her that the lock nut is not in the car, so they cant get the wheels off to replace the tyres. BMW Sandton last checked the brakes with its last service a few months ago, and seems they never put it back. So she took the car to the Melrose Arch BMW for them to help her with the lock nut seeing that there is a tyre place right down from them. She then told the Sandton BMW to order her own lock nut to replace the one they lost. She then had to go there to collect it and figured she might as well ask them to check the battery.

Since then we have noticed that the panel that covers internals by the foot pedals is missing (I am guessing from when the plugged in the computer). She is furious. These people have just fcked up left right and centre. The car has now also started giving a check brake fluid warning. The car was in for a service a few months ago and they said they checked everything. After they replace the missing panel and give her the lock nut they will never see her or that car again.

Sounds like a *** dealer, so I wouldn't blame BMW as a whole.

Also, insurance should cover tyres damaged by potholes.
 
Congrats! I bought my Sandero Stepway 3 years ago and had no problems and it's still going strong. Actually took it in for a service this morning.

I'm really eyeing the Megane though and seriously considering getting it.
 
What's up with all the love for the Stepway, a normal Sandero no longer being sold? what does it have over the normal Sandero?

What problems did you have with the ST? :(

Bought a new one at the end of last year, with extended maintenance plan though. Not what I want to be reading now though :crylaugh:
