Ok so instead of making all these threads which I have been, I'll stick to asking all my new pc related questions in here :o My new system is so far comprised of these parts (they are set on and I won't choose different :p) -

Case - Coolermaster HAF 922

Mobo -Intel DP67BG-B3 "Burrage Flat" SLI/CrossFireX

GFX - Asus NVIDIA GeForce GTX560 Ti 1GB

CPU - Intel Core i5-2400 Quad-Core LGA1155 3.1GHz Boxed Processor (Sandybridge)

PSU - Corsair GS600

RAM - Kingston Hyper-X Blu 2x2GB Kit DDR3-1333 (1.5v)

Screen - Samsung B2330H 23" 5ms 70,000:1 Widescreen LCD Monitor

Keyboard - Razer Lycosa

Add a headset, mouse and 3TB worth of hdd's to that I have above. Will that 600W PSU be enough?

With the non K-series Sandybridge I'm assuming you aren't planning on overclocking therefore only need the lowest model P8P67 mobo.

@ dooby - no OC'ing here hey, don't need to and don't want to :)

@ wabbit - around about the 10500-11500 mark

I've read good reviews about the Intel board - It's probably alot cheaper than the Asus option . If price isn't the issue I'd go for the Asus though .

Your PC doesn't require a PSU bigger than 500W, so you can probably save a couple of bucks there

You already got hardrive? Would be nice to get a 74gb ssd for primary.... but pushes cost to around 13k..

You sure? I did an online calc with my 2 dvd-roms and 3x hdd's added and it calculated that I need like 511W?

@ sandmanm34 - yeah got hdd's already, as much as I would love an ssd

So, I went with the Intel DP67BG-B3 "Burrage Flat" SLI/CrossFireX mobo and the Asus NVIDIA GeForce GTX560 Ti 1GB ...... some extra cash magically appeared from a benefactor

Very nice choice of keyboards! I'm keen on getting myself the same one.

Good choices all around :) Your PSU will definitely be sufficient - I think the PSU calculator you are using is being pessimistic. Will be a great machine!

Personally not a fan of that case. It's pricey too. Have you seen the Storm Scout? Much cheaper. So is the CM690ii. Any reason you want the HAF 922 over the Scout/CM690ii?

Isn't the Corsair TX650 only about R50 more? Even at R150 more, it's still better value. More watts, 2 years longer warranty. Yes, both are enough.

The RAM is overkill. You don't need Hyper-X in a system that you aren't OCing. Cheapo value RAM will do, from either Corsair/Kingston. The saving could go towards the TX650. Also these days, I would rather get 1 x 4GB, unless you don't think you will ever be running 8GB of RAM. I say this because 2x4GB is better than 4x2GB.

The Lycosa isn't bad. But I can tell you that it cannot compare with the Logitech Illuminated. The Lycosa's keys are much heavier/harder to press. Overall the Illuminated is more comfortable.

Case - was worried about the card not having space. Have looked at the CM 690II on YouTube and it seems I might be ok space wise, so will probably get that now instead.
PSU - about R150 odd more and it's out of stock to boot. Am happy with the 600W.
RAM - just personal preference really and R100 between it and cheaper ram isn't really a big ooooh (:p)
K/B - I love Razer stuff and have Razer stuff so it will match .... never really been a fan of the Logitech.

:)

Pretty sure the 560 will fit in the Scout, but yes, go with the CM690. Tried, tested, trusted case. Very popular.

Well all I want to say is that you won't be happy if the PSU breaks after 3 years and 1 day. You will end up then paying double, when the R150 would have covered you for 2 more years. It's a Corsair so it's not likely to break, but it is something to consider. Corsair PSU's come in regularly, so there shouldn't be much wait if you decide on the TX.

Okay, so it's purely aesthetic then. I see little point in this personally. For OCers yes sure. More value RAM > less good looking RAM. Anyway I'd still go with 4GB sticks though with the idea of 2 x 8GB in the future.

I must tell you that my friend has gone through 2 Lycosa's. Both have been crap and after some time (4 Starcraft 2 games) keys pressed more often (like E) stop working. The keyboard has to be re-plugged in. Seems Razer stuff doesn't like Windows 7, he even had problems with his Mamba where Windows Aero was interfering. I have nothing against Razer, just telling you that the Illuminated is a better option for ease, comfortability, long term use, etc.

Meph your PM box is full.

Both are the same cases to my knowledge, only difference is that the Advanced has an e-SATA dock at the top and a VGA retention bracket inside. So if you need those then yeah, Advanced is better.

600 watts is more than enough. I have that Asus GTX560 and an i5 2500K running on a corsair 600w with no worries. Also have the CM 690 II Basic case. The difference between them is like PostmanPot said, the Advanced has the e-sata dock, VGA retention, black painted interior (i thought the basic also did till i got my case :/), a SSD slot and 4 screwless things for the cd drives (the basic case only has the top 2 slots with screwless). I didn't have a real need for any of those extra features so that was my reason to save money and go with the basic.

Also from the 1st or 2nd reply? The P8P67 is the lowest board to support overclocking the P8H67 is a cheaper option that isn't really geared towards overclocking.
