Hi guys

After 3 years I thought it was a good idea to upgrade my PC. Well, not upgrade, get something new.

This is my new PC's specs. Nothing major but a very big improvement on what I had.

What I had:

MSI Neo 2 845 Motherboard
Pentium 4 2.8HT
1GB DDR 400
Geforce 4 MX440 AGP
SATA2 320GB HDD
Sony 8x DVD Writer DL

What I have now:

Intel Lemont 965 Motherboard
Core 2 Duo E6600 CPU
1GB DDR2 667mhz Ram
NVIDIA Geforce 6600GS PCI-e (Dont do gaming so it's more than enough)
SATA2 320GB HDD
Samsung 18x DVD Writer DL SATA

1GB DDR2 800mhz Ram
NVIDIA Geforce 7300GS PCI-e (not a gamer so it's more than enough)
250GB HDD

Piesang, I noticed you using 677Mhz RAM, I hav DDR2 1GB 677 available, I first bought it thinking I'll use, I then bought a 800Mhz chip, so I don't need it, it's brand new, still in orignal packaging.
 
nice system!! im saving for my ps3 (nvidia 8800 GTX):p cant wait to get it i really cant!!!! every time i see one i get goose bumbs!1:D :D

What do you guys pay for your systems?

I have a guy who supplies me

Just got a dual core2 3.6ghz
1gig ram
7600 GT
19" LCD
160gig HD
surround sound speakers with sub
mouse keyboard

for about R7000-00 good or not good? he reckons its a bargain.
 
ive yet to a core 2 3.6ghz unless its overclocked

e6400 = 2500
mobo = 1k
76gt- 1900
160 gig hdd - 800
surround sound - 650
kb - lets say 300
1 gig ram 900

i reckon 10k for my pc is a bargain but do you :)

that price doesnt lok bad just dont know about this 3.6ghz core 2

maybe he sold a core 2 thats actually a p4 chip thinking you wouldnt notice

Dual Core 2 or a Core 2 Duo?
3.6ghz or 2.6ghz?

Just want to make sure. And what type of Ram is it DDR 400, DDR 2 533, 667 or 800?

Mmm, it's going to cost me a few bucks to get it here. I pay R990 for 1GB DDR2 667. So to make it worthwhile for me you should charge me about R600. Then when I pay the courier fee it should work out to about R700. That's a bargain for me but not for you. I suppose you try to get a buyer much closer to you. I'm in Cape Town.
 
Hopefully getting the following in about a month, haven't ordered anything yet but this is basically what it will be.

Core2Duo E6600
EVGA 680i SLi Motherboard
EVGA 8800GTS 320mb
Corsair 2GB DDRII 800 (2*1gb)
Thermaltake 550W
Seagate 160GB SATA *2 (from old pc, dont need more space)

To replace athlonX2 3800+, gigabyte k8n-Sli, 7900GT, 2GB DDR400.

Thats below my cost, how about R850 including shipping (via speedservices), thats also below my cost but I'm will to let it go for that price because I need the money for something else.

WTF are you talking about? PS3 doesn't have a 8800GTX videocard, LOL. Freaking marketing swindle has you fooled. It's BASED on the G70 (read Geforce 7) but not equivalent, even a stock GF7900 would own it in a benchmark. Looking at the hardware in parts is no use in a console since it's vastly inferior to the latest PC's but as a whole with specialized/optimized software it can perform on par with quite well equipped PC's
