My new PC.

If the mods had a problem with it I'm sure they would have noticed without you saying anything. They're pretty good at what they do hence the title they've been given....

My question was answered 20 minutes before your post as you can see, but I am sure your feedback is always welcome.

Nvidia 8800GTX, Look, I don't play games but I will sell my left wingnut for that card.

Impressive system. :D ;)

How much did that set you back? Isn't it depressing that in less than a year its going to be out of date :( :(

Around 18.5k with software.

And yes - in a years time its hopefully going to be a 'standard' system.

Now, all i need is a copy of crysis and I am set for the next few months.

Eish, see thats the thing, I'm looking at spending half of that to bring my system up to spec and I'm not sure if its not worth just getting an Xbox and a nice LCD tv? My current PC is fine for WoW & all the other acient game you end up playing at LANs and otherwise its just used as a HTPC

Apacer 512MB DDR2 240-Pin DIMM, [DDR5300] R 365.80
Apacer 1024MB DDR2 240-Pin DIMM, [DDR5300] R 705.56
Apacer 512MB DDR2 240-Pin DIMM, [DDR6400] R 421.60

I think that rig will last more than a year and 8800GTX won't be outdated by then. Lots of power still to be exposed on that system and gfx card. Hope you will be overclocking that E6400 as 8800GTX is underpowered by X6800 let alone E6400. :) At least 8x400 for 3.2GHz

ffs.

Was looking at evga 680i sli mb, now what? Asus Commando?
Also was looking at the evga 8800gts 320mb, but i would be happy with the xfx.

Intel core 2 duo - T7200 - 2ghz
2gb DDR 667 Ram
100gb 7200rpm hdrive
256mb geforce 7400(not a gamer)
12.1" screen

LoL ;)

Hopefully getting the following in about a month, haven't ordered anything yet but this is basically what it will be.

Core2Duo E6600
EVGA 680i SLi Motherboard
EVGA 8800GTS 320mb
Corsair 2GB DDRII 800 (2*1gb)
Thermaltake 550W
Seagate 160GB SATA *2 (from old pc, dont need more space)

To replace athlonX2 3800+, gigabyte k8n-Sli, 7900GT, 2GB DDR400.

Well let us know when you got it if the new PC is any better than your old one.

For R14K you can buy an HP 30 inch 92% colour gamut monitor,
running at native 2500 by 1600 res, full HDCP. That monitor would
work for you for at least 5 years - long enough to render
two generations of these overpriced hogs obsolete.

Buying anything top of the range - when it comes out - is
a waste of money.

In a year's time it will be a sub-standard system.
