My New Study

Yeah Makro chairs :mad: I hate them with a passion.... never again.
 
Right, again its been a while since I put anything in here...

Study is up and running, so now its the final details that need to be sorted out pretty much... procrastinating on the "decorating" aspect somewhat since I have some fairly specific requirements and it seems as if I am going to have custom make a fair chunk of the stuff, since the rubbish that the shops sell just doesn't QUITE meet requirements (eg, floating shelves from the shops are all about 70mm to narrow for what I want)

But having the server cabinet has brought up a somewhat unexpected issue... the damn fans in the cabinet are not exactly quiet... so I'm looking for somewhere that will sell quiet 120mm 220v fans so that I can replace the buggers that are already in the cabinet.

shot ponder.. will go trawling the site to see what I can find...

heartbroken, I want to avoid things like that purely from a neatness point of view, I am going out of my way to make sure everything is neat and tidy inside the cabinet.
 
No Xpanda type security gate for that sliding door?
Whats all in that server cabinet?

The gate is coming.... just have to build up a bit of a cash reserve to pay for it, because its a non-standard size... The door was expensive, the gate will be more expensive :(

The server cabinet has a 24 port gigabit switch, 2 HP ML110's, a Mikrotik 2011RB, the ADSL modem and the first node of my OpenMesh WiFi network...

Want to replace the ML110's at some point with proper rack mounted units, but thats a few years away....

What size is your cabinet and where did you buy it? I'm looking at installing one at home, but don't know what size to get.

Mine is a 15U and I bought it from Pinnacle, cost just shy of R1800 about a year and a half ago...

I could have done with a larger cabinet, but 15U seems to be the largest wallmounted box that can swing open...
