I have a business modem and it is now the second time my bill has reached over 3000. This doesnt make any sense because when i reach 2 gigs of usage, i cant use it anymore. I even recorded how much data i used this month and it was around 1.9 gigs. How is this possible?! I have seen other people with this issue as well. I am very unhappy with vodacom

Get an ADSL line. You have a business so this should not be an issue.

If you cannot get ADSL where your business is, consider iBurst or Afrihost on MTN contract.

i picked up this problem with vodacom where i will have a data bundle , but it will use my airtime,
any when its in this 'phase' if i try and do a query to check my data balances it doesn't work. Check your bill if they charging you the R2 - mb rates at certain times where you have data in your bundle but it uses the 'std' data.
my guess

Unlucky. Couple years back before i had ADSL i had a 1Gb cap on vodacom 3G after the cap was depleted it would not work anymore it was ment to be R149 p/m for two months i got a bill for R2000 i then told vodacom to shove it and switch the contract to some R100 p/m thing cut up the sim and just paid R100 till the contract expired you should do the same and you should consider getting ADSL https://www.afrihost.com/site/product/business_adsl_bundles?src=website_nav

Are you on top-up, or the ones that give you free Night Owl (to be eaten by the OOB shark) one?
Maybe if you can, post the relevant part of the bill with the charges/usage.

There's also the WASP factor.

Also had a data issue in November 2014 when ±R6.5K was suddenly debited from my account.
Numerous visits to our Vodacom outlet, calls to 1946, 1940 and 155 finally elicited the information that I had used 8.525Gb on one day!
Slightly ridiculous as the normal monthly R89 data contract amount had hardly ever been exceeded. Attempts to obtain detailed usage information proved absolutely fruitless. I would like to have known for instance, from what cell site the alleged data usage had occurred as on the day in question I was in an unusual location.
After FOUR MONTHS, with linked phones being cut-off and re-connected a number of times, numerous calls to uninformed call centres and being passed from one department to another, a call to the CEO assistant's office elicited promises of action followed by a form offering a full credit on condition that I would not pursue the matter any further. So the mystery remains . . .
I now pay monthly via EFT which works OK, except that my phone was cut-off on the 1st of April before I could check the balance owing!
Despair
