My order at Digital Planet

hopefully you're right :)
But the rarely visible 'honest person' in me, (in fraud cases anyway) gets uptight when a criminal tries to get me to agree that what they're doing is somehow 'okay'.
Not when half the damn businesses online with cool goodies, won't ship to this country because of the fraud problem.

Hey guys,

After if found the bug i upped the amount of items i wanted. I have no intention of getting the products out of them, as that would mean they would lose a large amount of money and have to close down. Thats not fair just because of the small programming bug. However if it were telkom, i would like my products by Friday!!!

Update: This mail did not come through and Auto Reply.

I dont think this sort of behaviour should be allowed on the forum. Which client would be able to trust a business who operates in this manner? Ad or no ad, the mods should look at this in a more serious light.

DP should have a lot more cash than 22mil. With their partnerships they've built, they must be coining it big time...

Thx for that info JayT, but keep your thoughts between yourself and Clips. This has nothing to do with my buissness, these are privite items which i wanted to purchase.

oh right, what was I thinking. You could obviously use 400 ipods, 100 x 100Gb video recorders, 10x 30k laptops etc etc etc. You must have lots of kids.

It is obvious you ordered the stock with the view to sell at one hell of a profit if anything came of it.

Person posting something like this could cause some problems for you, not very wise.

well can someone do their good deed of the day, and drop various mails to Digital Planet with the goods listed, and advise them to check through orders, to find the order in question, and reference this thread as well.
Even if 'he's joking' - its still unacceptable - like someone saying 'watch this, I'm gonna try steal a car'.
No thanks. Rather alert the car owner and be a decent person.

you have no intention of getting the products... yet in post 16 u say u have paid the R250.... so were you just gonna donate it to DP or what?

btw... you have concluded the transaction, by paying the shipping, therefore DP has every right to deliver the goods and expect full payment from you.

lol... another supplier (person) bites the dust... and telkom had nothing to do with it :p

So I assume you've cancelled the order and notified them of the problem already?

pointing towards a post saying 'gee guys, I've got no intention of doing it' - DOESN'T absolve this forum or viewers of your earlier posts, of some ethical obligations, and/or potential criminal liability.

you saying 'no don't worry, not gonna do it' - and going from talking about 'a trick' - to suddenly showing concern over the company in question having to close down if you did it - strikes me as bogus.

Why completed the order process then? Why not just report the bug and then mention it once they've fixed it. Leaking 0day info isnt good for the company if they dont know about it

in all honesty if person really wanted to steal these things i dont think he would have posted this ... think about it ... he was just highlighting a flaw in digital planets system ...

I would not be stealing as i pay the total they asked me to. Buy it is unfair to them if i do try get the products out of them, so im not going to do that - also if i do try i'lll only get them out in 10years time after we been to court many times, so its not worth it.

well if it does go down, and really i should - if you guys back me up, you'll be getting some really nice prices on some goods :-)

Looks like your being prity serious about doing it..

*edit

Also looks like your sucking up to everyone on the forum...

Thats not my problem, with a big order like this they should pick it up, i want to see how long it takes. If it was a small order of the few hundred rand they might never pick it up. Think of it as me doing them a service.

well then Person, you won't mind if multiple folks on this forum, send the company in question your list of goods and a link to this thread, right?
(As I think and hope, has already been done..)

I mean if its all just a joke, then we can all have a good laugh about it, including the folks at the company itself - who won't mind having a good giggle at our over reaction, and - if there are any bugs which you've perhaps found - who'll probably be in touch with you soon, to thank you for showing them the flaw in their systems.

Of course, if you happened to have forgotten to let them know anything, you may get some interesting communications from various legal authorities - a good thing, given the possible liability problems your detailing of your order, motivations, and hopes for it to happen, might give this Forum.

Sweet dreams :)

Honesty is the best policy (as my Gran used to say).

From previous posts in this thread it would seem clear that there was attempt to exploit a flaw in the system. The poster requested other forumites to back him, was promising a variety of goods etc. When it became clear that their was some dissatisfaction with the idea of acquiring these goods because of a flaw the original poster backed down and changed his tune. Another poster incicated that he would have diificulty doing business with some one this way inclined. I agree difficult to do business with some who is prepared to be dishonest!
