Dear ICASA,
I know we've given you a lot of flak over the past few years and, as Mr. Mashile himself acknowledged on SABC 3's Interface last night, not enough has been done and more needs to be done. He also listed several initiatives that you are undertaking to address the state of telecommunications and open the market to greater competition.
We applaud this openness on your part and this is all we ask of you: Engage more with the public as you have shown you can.
If you were to communicate more openly with us, tell us your plans and when you hope to bring them to fruition, I guarantee that you would find we have the ability to be far more positive towards you. And we promise not to put your head on the block if you are open with us about why you weren't able to meet a goal in time.
This is all we ask. With your support we can work together, instead of against each other, towards a brighter future in this glorious nation's telecoms industry. Let's make tomorrow, today.
Kindest regards,
The South African consumer
