My router settings

My router did the same thing once when I upgraded the firmware.
Had to do a hard reset to fix it.
a hard reset isn't when you push the little reset button on the back

A hard reset is when you push that reset button at the back but you have to keep it in for I think 5 seconds or more.
Warning: You will lose all your router settings and you will have to setup your router from scratch!!!

Well it is there a way of opening ports, besides using hub settings

Good news everyone, I stopped getting "the page cannot be found" message.
I now get the "504 gateway timeout" message

try this from a DOS prompt :

telnet 10.0.0.2 80

does it give you :

A. something back

B. an empty screen which when you type anything and press enter gives a whole bunch of html

C. just a connection failed message ?

sorry for you then. Sounds like the HTTP access has either been closed or moved to a different port. Providing you know how to reconfigure your router from scratch, your only option is a factory reset.

Of course, viruses and misconfigured firewalls are always a possible cause of this too ..........

Viruses, I hope not. I do not want to reset to factory settings.
Lets say I reset my modem and I still can't access my router settings, what then? Then I will have no Internet, nothing

then you're up the proverbial creek without the necessary implements ....
