So last night a storm fried my router. I hooked up the ancient Telkom giant router just for now. So just I looked at my phone and noticed somebody was trying to cast to my Android Box with nobody in the room. Go over to the living room and see gay porn video loading up . I disconnected the android box and switched off the Router before it could start playing.

Another possibility is I have side loaded Netflix TV apk as well as the new version of Terrarium TV.

Is there I can make casting more secure?

And recommendations for a decent router just looking for the cheapest one better than the Hauwei Router that comes from Telkom

Maybe put a password on your Wi-Fi?

Check out Mikrotik. Heres the cheapest model:

Im running the RB750GR3 and love it.

They have a "quick-set" option that gives you a good basic setup. You can then tweak around as needed.

They push out software updates regularly. Keep it updated as some of those are security patches for exploits.

EDIT: Do you need it to have an ADSL port, or do you have a modem?

You can always just get the cheapest modem possible then put the Mikrotik router behind that.

EDIT 2: Here the Mikrotik thread where you can ask questions

Is there a way to see a log of which devices cast to my TV box?

Are you sure it wasn't your kid in his bedroom trying to cast and it was sent to the TV in your living room?
Maybe your son is gay.

You should also be able to change which ports can access the admin interface. I'd recommend disabling DSL and or the WAN Ethernet port for administrative access.

It was a 1995 level password. I had set so everybody at home could remember it :(
So Admin and password admin.
Or whenever the defaults are...
There is your problem. Reset. Better passwords for login and wifi. Then you should have a bit of time to do homework and find the best router for your budget.
