So... been exactly 30 days and guess what... now the problem starts... dropping calls... I cant dial numbers anymore as it does not show numbers... went to MTN and told them that RIM are recalling all their storm 2's for new ones and I get a sarcastic stare... even though Vodacom is doing it they "apparently" do not know what I am talking about...

So...

My problems are...

- Dropping Calls

- Dial mode does not work as I can't press any numbers

- RIM recalled earlier Storm 2 models and mine is one of them but MTN can't pick up a phone to verify this...

What to do...

Upgrading the firmware should sort out the dropping calls. It may help with the dial mode, but that could be linked to the screen issues.

Also have a Storm 2 with MTN (over 30 days as well). Want to swap out as well.

Must say one up to Vodacom for the swopping out of the Storm 2 without any issues

perhaps we should organize a toy-toy outside MTN SP in Sandton. Might get them to rethink their strategy that customer satisfaction is their highest priority. I'm having the same issues after upgrading the firmware. Stuck with the S2 for now.

I'm glad I did get it. The screen may be a bit temperamental but I'm using hybrid software and it runs great. Have been browsing the crackberry forums and they have a lot of useful info, hybrid software etc. The swap out problem itself is an MTN issue, RIM did their part by issuing the recall.

I got my Storm2 from the second batch and have it for a month now and it have never had a dropped call nor have screen issues only when BIS is down or slow do issues arises.
I just wish MTN can be as quick as Vodacom in releasing their Blackberry firmware updates. Need V5 to correct the battery draining issues.

Well...

Also have the first batch of the Storm 2 from MTN... it is driving me up the wall...

My issues...

Dropped calls have become a norm now..
Dial mode doesn't work...
ridiculously slow when typing... well... pretty much anything

Mine wont even pick up the latest firmware...:cry:

I'll go back to my 8900 today... NXI!!!

Got it first week it came out but didn't use it as was traveling for 3 weeks thereafter. Going to drop this off at MTN SP one of these days and hopefully will get a replacement....
