Hey everyone! I have a 20MB line which syncs usually at 16-18MB's. I've had the 20MB line ever since Telkom introduced the offer and I've had no issues whatsoever until August 2018.
In August 2018, my line would repeatedly DC every 5 minutes. I initially thought it was an MWEB issue and have checked to see if there was a fault on their side. MWEB informed me that the issue was a Telkom one and that I should try a prepaid account from another ISP to confirm the problem. I've tried 3 various ISP's and yet the DC issue continues.
In December 2018 I had my entire line replaced along with my router and filters swapped out. I've also had guys from Cables come in to test the line and everything appears to be fine on "paper". I live just over 900 meters from the exchange. The exchange has been recently upgraded and I was told that I have been moved to a new "port".
To date, my line syncs at 17mb, however every night I DC repeatedly and wind up syncing at 1.6MB. Technicians have come and gone as well as repeatedly checked my line to no avail. I have a neighbor with a 20MB line who's problem free.
Does anyone know of a way to escalate my problem and whom to contact? I feel like I am playing Russian Roulette when dialing 10210.
