my USB stick doesnt play in my frontloader

Howzit

I just got a JVC usb/mp3 frontloader. I put my usb drive in and it came up and recognized it then it comes up with error and doesnt play any music. any help would be appreciated

Ja, that would be my first guess. Make sure it is formatted with FAT32... how big is it?

What format are the MP3 songs in? I mean how are they encoded?

Is there a manual that came with your frontloader? What does that say about bitrate and such for the MP3s?
 
its a 4gb flash drive... im not to sure how they encoded but they are mp3s. 128kbps, 2 channel stereo... and ya :/ the manual is at the other house... which is really far so ya

How do you KNOW it is formatted with FAT32?

Can you plug it into Windows XP and check for us?

The manual might specify MP3, 128 kbit/s AND a sample rate of 44.1 Khz.

What sample rate do your MP3s have?
 
play one of your MP3s through VLC Player and check the file's stream and media info.
 
Not really any help, but try only putting a few songs on the stick. My car player will refuse to play off my usb stick if it has many songs on it (also a 4GB stick). I don't use my usb functionality anymore :(
 
Have you tried using another USB stick and seeing if that works?

My old Sony worked with a 32Gb HDD and a N95 8GB.
I suggest Poffle press the reset button a few times and try again, thats if the radio is the problem and not the USB stick.
 
thanks for the help guys, ya my songs are 44khz and yes i did check that its fat32.. when it says File System : Fat32.. i think it means it :) but ya i will try with a smaller usb stick and read the manual a bit more :P thanks again
 
Yep dablakmark8 has it nailed. The flash drive is too big ;)
 
Did u put the songs into folders or all just onto the stick?

Try putting the songs into a folder and then see what happens, if u have not done so...
