Hi guys,

I did a sim swap 2 days ago, when I call my Vodacom number from other networks (Telkom, MTN & CellC) I get a message that the number does not exist. Even SMSes do not get delivered. However when I call my number from a Vodacom line it goes through and SMSes are delivered. I can call any number on all networks from my Vodacom number

Logged a call with Vodacom customer care centre I was told thats not possbile. i called again spoke to a different agent he said he was going to log a query with Services Department. I got an SMS that someone will call me within 2 days. Am still waiting.

It's a routing issue.

Good luck with that. Try their social media.

:mad:Still waiting. Just discovered that I can receive calls from CellC and Telkom landline, how strange. Could the issue be with Telkom mobile and MTN SPs? VC told me they prioritise any network issues over everything else so hopefully soon.

No. It's Vodacom that provides the info for your SIM to the other networks. So obviously the other networks are trying to the route the calls to your old SIM.

Vodacom needs to provide the networks with the info of your new SIM.

Two week later my issue is partly resolved, I can now receive calls from MTN but I still cant receive calls from Telkom Mobile, decided to call VC customer care, was told to log a new query that I cant receive calls from Telkom Mobile numbers:mad:. because the my original query was captured incorrectly so they only focused on the MTN issue. Was then told to hold on at the end of the call to rate VC services:mad:
20 minutes later someone called me from VC saying we understand you are having a signal problem???

Anyway its a start at least half my problem is solved might have to way for another...

Thanks Ockie, I didnt even want to mention the frustrations I had gone through, 1st time I called Customer Care this morning I told them I was following up on my query and when I wanted to give them the reference number they said it wont work as they dont use reference numbers I have to explain my issue from the beginning, called 2nd time same thing, only when I got through the 3rd time after complaining thats when they accepted my old reference number to check whats happening.

Please push the MNP guys.
