I have been using Realtek 8185 Extensible 802.11b/g Wireless Device. Previously my effective speed was in the range of 1MB/second, which I believed was fine considering that an effective speed for 802.11b is 11Mbps. Since I have upgraded to Windows 7 I am now getting an effective speed of about 250KB/second.
Does 802.11b/g not mean that the device is able to work with either B or G? My router is currently configured to ONLY G. I will be changing to ONLY B and will reply here if there is any change of speed.
