MyADSL Awards

considering this is basically the most popular consumer forum for this industry....it will be well publised so when Telkom unaimously recieves the

"we suck bigtime" award for Broadband's worst contributors or somthing like that......every paper will publish it....probably mentioned on the radio.
 
What you really need to organise is for the people who win the award to get it themselves. So for instance, Papi (or Ivy or whoever) will receive the coveted Mamparra award (or whateeever) right in the place they work. (plus free photograph)

I agree that it will most likely receive good exposure and I think it is of value to have an award voted for by consumers. I will however not be too certain about a possible winner of the ‘onion’ award…stiff competition there :D

look at the westbank car of the year award. this basically a collection of motoring journalists who vote for their idea of best car, etc.

myadsl is an improvement on this as its the largest community of broadband consumers in sa. the car of the year award built up over time.

eventually myadsl might even get a sponsor for the awards.....the Telkom MyADSL broadband awards...he he he he.

but i suggest the awards are linked to meaningfull catagories...a lot like the MTV awards, consumers choose the categories.

to make it noticable.....there should be more than one onion award.

possible categories (sorry if i'm repeating others ideas)

-best customer service, wireless service provider
-best customer service, fixed line service provider (there are almost two)
-best ISP
-best ISP customer service
-best customer representative on MyADSL
-worst customer service, wireless service provider
-worst customer service, fixed line service provider
-worst ISP
-worst ISP customer service
-worst contribution to broadband development in RSA
-best contribution to broadband development in RSA.

i'm sure there are more.
 
Great idea. An attractive image with the myadsl.co.za logo and the name of the award at the bottom would be awesome. The companies could then put this image on their advertisements, products, something like: 'Voted funkiest ISP by YOU' - with the image next to it... Thinking aloud.. :)
 
Yep we can reinstate that award again just for you TIAL :p
