MyADSL Bandwidth usage and hosting bill

Hi folks

I have just received our last month’s BW usage stats and hosting invoice. We have used 82.537 Gigs of Bandwidth which is quite impressive considering that this does not involve downloading any large files (all those are hosted on other servers). Our hosting bill obviously runs into many thousands per month, but I am glad to say that Cara is running a tight budget and that MyADSL is still financially secure.

Thanks as well to all our advertisers for their continual support of MyADSL. While it is a very good business decision for most of these companies (we are much cheaper and better than other sites :D), it is still nice that they choose MyADSL and ensure that the site stays right here in SA!

Thanks RPM & Cara for all the hard work that goes into keeping MyADSL afloat, thanks to the advertisers as well - obviously good business sense bcos they are getting very good value for money :).

Lekker man, good to hear its all running well.
Just a point for those that may not know, that this same thing overseas would cost under R100pm with plenty Bandwidth to spare.

I hope you're kidding, 80G a month will cost approx $60-70 at any decent host in the States, which is approx R400-450 a month, why don't you shop around for a better/cheaper host.

P.S. Didn't mean to be rude, just wondering, btw this is about the only co.za that I visit daily, great work guys ;)

Thanks for the feedback.

We would do our best to keep this site in South Africa. It is faster and the guys that are capped can still access MyADSL. Overseas hosting will indeed save us thousands, but currently we can still afford local hosting which means we will be able to serve our visitors better.

[5cents] And i think if we believe ourselves to be truely "Proadly South African" unlike some other organisation which i dont need to mention .......... TELSCUM. cough* we would need to keep myadsl in South Africa...[/5cents]
