This is a shameless plug, but I just noticed that the "Donations and Ads" section is up at the myadsl.co.za main page.

I'm not sure if everyone knows the horror bill that RPM received from his hosting company a while ago, but if you can spare a few bucks, and your modem stays connected for long enough, and your internet banking site doesn't time out, then <b>do</b> consider making a donation towards myadsl.co.za's hosting fund.

I donated a while ago, and will continue to do so on a regular basis. I think one of the biggest reasons MyADSL has experienced so much more traffic is due to this MyWireless section - its far and away the busiest section of the forum. No one that has been around here for a while can say they haven't benefited from the views, technical discussions and general community atmosphere - so come on ppl its time to give some back

I'm very keen for that, if TheRodents squeeze [;)] (err.. Mistress Potgieter) gets her knickers in a knot over a URL then imagine the hoops of fire she would jump through if we pulled this stunt once, let alone a prolonged, week long, nation wide expose about the joys (or rather the lack of) the SinTech My-Dire-less service.

Hell, Reality TV has got nothing on the entertainment value this could provide...

Hi Rhino and others

The running costs of the sites and related activities are not that much (around R 600-00 per month). Previously I have happily covered all the costs myself, but the latest bill was somewhat higher than expected (R 7221-00). This made me realize that it will be a good idea if MyADSL can be financially self-sufficient to ensure the future of this valuable community. Although the site has been moved overseas I am still using a local hosting company for both MyBroadband and MyADSL…who will support these companies if we don’t?

Rest assured that both MyADSL and MyBroadband will be here in future. I have paid for the hosting services for the full year and will make use of any excess funds to cover next year’s expenses as well. With the help of our loyal friend TheRodent we might even be able to create a redundant forum to ensure that not even technical problems will get us to keep quite :-)

Howdi folks...

RPM: I would like to advertise my site here, seeing that it is also a fairly new website it could do with some traffic.

Just a quick question though: what is the bandwidth usage of your site per month. If it is less than 5Gigs then Hetzner's master account might work for you. http://www.hetzner.co.za/index.php?id=13

I have two master accounts with them and I am soooo happy, and at R439 per month, what a pleasure.

Seeing that I have all that space (2gb in total)I am willing to "provide" some if you need, so just let me know.

Just made my small contribution. It's not much, but if everyone pitches in just a small amount there won't ever be financial problems for this site again.

I really appreciate the golden nuggets of information that I pick up on a frequent basis from this site and its community. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way.
