Hi folks

I am glad to inform you that MyADSL now has a positive balance of R 1900-00. The income for September/October was R 2000-00, but the yearly domain name renewal was due (R100-00). All the receipts will be kept regarding hosting costs, domain name renewals, income etc. in case there are any queries. We must thank Cara for her work regarding the ads and finances. She is doing a great job at invoicing all the companies that is advertising, tracking payments, paying for hosting etc. And all of this in her free time and at no financial reward!! If anybody has questions regarding the finances or advertising please feel free to contact her: [email protected] We will remain completely transparent regarding all financial issues. This site truly belongs to its members and the finances are no exception.

Regards,

RPM

Hi Karnaugh

All of the revenue for this month is from advertising. There were many donations a few months ago, but there is definitely no need for it any more as advertising brings in more than enough to sustain the site. I think we will easily continue to cover our expenses without having to charge higher fees for advertising or asking for donations.

A special thanks to both RPM and Cara for their hard work. I think most of us prefer an ad-free site, but I personally don't find the myadsl ads intrusive at all. I know RPM said he might stop the ads once there was enough money to cover costs, but maybe it's a good idea to keep the ads. There might come a time where we, as a community, need the funds for a project. Maybe for advertising, or something like that.

At any rate, thanks and keep it up RPM.

I think ad's are great, no problem with sites using adds to make revenue if they provide a usefull and ultimatly free service.

Well done RPM and Cara! Keep up the good work. It's not about money, it's about [b}time[/b]. The moderators and you guys spend an awesome amount of time, and there is no way we could pay you for it at a reasonable rate. Thank you!!!
