MyADSL is slow...

Hi,

does anybody know why this site is so slow?

Just did the speed test at www.telkom.co.za/dsl and got 455.9kbps which is blazing.

I get the feel that sites outside the Telkom/SAIX network is much slower than anything on the Telkom network.

The state of connectivity generally in SA is dubious - and gee, the common denominator? TELKOM!

i think the speed test on telkom site only tests ur local speed

i think that test thing on telkom site only tests connection speed from your place to telkom site.

You are all very lucky, I'm with MWeb and can't even get the bandwidth test running - I'm currently at 0.05kbps ! Bet not even Telkom get close to this.[V]

And then Mweb claims to have the fastest internet access in South Africa. Why do South Africans pay more to get a slower connection. If ADSL is a Telkom product why do you guys pay more to get a third party service and a slower connection?

For me the site is quite fast. Not bad at all.
