Personally I didnt like the departed a lot, but that's just me
Technically it was good. FX was great on those headshots. Looked almost real but it left me with the "Uhm, ok" feeling I get from average movies
Not something i'd like to watch again like apocalypto or even Blood diamond

You liked apocalypto? It was really not for me...

Blood diamond was great i thought.

Have you seen The Prestige?

No, Still [-]downloading[/-] waiting for it to be released on dvd :D

There was a time when I really liked Steven "woodface" Segal movies
Not for his acting abilities but for the martial arts. He really is very good in that dept, cant argue that
Last night watched Flight of Fury... what a kuk movie

Haven't seen Stalingrad yet.

Actually not a bad movie, life and times of a platoon of German soldiers.

A Bridge to Far -- Battle of Arnheim -Full Cast

Tora Tora Tora --Attack on Pearl Harbour, shows both sides.
Midway --Battle of Midway, Spot a young Tom Selleck manning a machine gun nest.

Picked up a book at paperweight called "Brasseys guide to War Films" isbn1 85753 355 0
Listings for over 2000 War films up to and including Saving Private Ryan, has a very nice index at the back of the book listing the periods/wars that each movie focuses on from Ancient Greece to modern times like the war in Bosnia.
For any fan of War movies, i would highly recommend trying to get a copy.
Covers foreign films as well as the usual American and British made movies.

Ooo Kelly's Heroes  My fav movie of all time full stop. I've seen that film dozens of times and know it backwards.

Seen most of those films. I good movie that surprised me is one called JackNife. No real 'war" scenes but the effects of the Vietnam war on these two vets. Old movie staring Ed Harris and Robert De Niro. No Hollywood over the top rubbish and politics really.
