MyADSL Movie Thread

I saw 300 over the weekend. To be honest, I thought it was crap, though not quite as bad as Alexander. Acting was pretty terrible, the lines were cheesy (best lines in the movie at the end, were actually from a poem, not from the scriptwriter), the soundtrack was a mish-mash plagiased from James Horner and Hans Zimmer, many of the characters were completely ridiculous, and it took itself far, far too seriously.

Best scene in the movie: Leonidas says "Get ready for a wild night!", and the camera zooms out to show 30 bare-chested, leather-thonged husky men.

Found a decent movie on TCM last night :)

10 Rillington Place , starring Sir Richard Attenborough and John Hurt , is a creepy film about John Christie , the infamous British serial killer.

This film is on par with the best thriller Hitchcock ever made.

The movie to see, is GRINDHOUSE..
it opened here a few days back, havent got around to seeing it yet..

"Two full length feature horror movies written by Quentin Tarantino & Robert Rodriguez put together as a two film feature. Including fake movie trailers in between both movies."
- here they're showing it as one looong double bill, with fake ads in between - trailers being done by Rob Zombie, Eli Roth and others. (like 'Werewolf Women of the SS' for instance)

Apparently elsewhere in the world, it'll be cut up into 2 movies..

Total sleaze, violence and glorious B Grade movie celebration..

lets see how scumbags nu metro or ster kinekor will market it - whether
they'll charge more, or show it cut up into two bits..

I was about watch that but then got distracted by other things :o :(

by the way, AVOID 'Mr Bean's Holiday' - gawd knows what he was thinking. I didn't believe Rowan Atkinson could be unfunny even if he tried, but he's succeeded somehow.. really awful film..

Quite a cool indie flick is "First Snow" - worth a look..

The Illusionist. - The poor man's version of The Prestige. It sucked.
Except the Illusionist was released well before the Prestige - but yeah - the Prestige was a better film.
