MyBB BF3 Clan

Guys, Kyton says the 3570K get quite hot. I don't want to spend extra on a cpu cooler, so I was thinking of going for the i3 3220. It's half the price and it shouldn't make such a big difference in games.

What do you think?

It is only hot if you compare it to the temps against the sandy bridge. It is still fine with stock cooler if you are not going to overclock. it also depends on what cooling u have on your chassis. I ran mine for months on the stock, but some Noob kept on complaining.:D

GO 3570k or go home.:D If you are not worried about the onboard GPU, then got plain jane 3570

Alos 3570k is a good CPU and it will have a good time keeping up with the new Haswell proc this year. So it won't be money wasted and when u sell it, guys will jump off builings for it.:D

+1 Glad I got the 3570k, rather spend the extra cash :)

pssst BF4 wait for it....

I still think even now its worth it. You will get much earlier access to End Game and you will get all the other expansions. Bf4 might still be a while off

If you are thinking of DLC then go for Close Quarters with the extra guns at least. They are some of the best available

L86 is my go to support gun
ACW and MTAR are my go to engi guns

What is the difference between the 3570 and 3570K?

If you never plan on overclocking then maybe look at the i5-3330. Still a quad, just locked and running at 3ghz. Will still be bliksem fast

nice chip got this for my friend and he like it price is good also Esquire best prices for me

scroll down a bit, they go into detail.

Intel doesn't recommend using over 1.5v for RAM, but also says voltage over 1.65 will reduce the life of your processor, and possibly kill it quick, but I know people who go over 1.65 when overclocking without apparent damage. I currently use 1.65v 1600 Kingston that's really just overclocked 1333 sticks with more voltage. Right now 2400 Ram and up is all 1.65v, but you can get 8 GB of 2133/1.5v RAM for $56, with decent timings and latency. That's the sweet spot - only a few bucks more than basic RAM, with low voltage and timings, such as the Intel Extreme Masters from Patriot. Ivy Bridge is so efficient at using memory, you don't get much out of higher memory speeds, but you do get lower latency, and up to 25 GB/s throughput, which is much more than you really need. I feel more comfortable using 1.5 volts and will soon upgrade to the 2133/1.5v.

1.5v is JEDEC standard for DDR3, so naturally Intel would back that standard. Intel spec allows for up to 1.65v. As Binge says, memory voltage must be within .5v of qpi/dram (memory controller) voltage, so the memory controller should be no less than 1.15v when vmem is 1.65v. If you had 1.6v memory you could attempt to run 1.1v qpi/dram. I'm not sure what would happen if you ran 1.1v qpi/dram and 1.65v memory. Is it just that vmem and qpi/dram voltage must be within .5v of eachother, or is it just that over 1.65v memory is dangerous? That's my own question left unanswered thus far.
