I am around still, just a bit irratated with mweb at the moment, only server I can play on with reasonable ping is the iGame servers, but they kuk cuase you can't hide :(

so I've been jamming on fallen earth, got a bit hocked on the bloodsport pvp lately.. capture the flag is cool and yet the fraken snipers just don't wanna get lost evan in that game. luckly they can't do one shot kills :) so it gives me a chance to run up to them and smack them with my slegde hammer.

also found a decent killing floor server to jam on, might jam some bf tonight if the pings isn't to bad.

Yeah checked you were playing killing floor yesterday.

IGame is so funny dude, those guys aren't that good compared to the SGS boys, i mean i had 36 kills and 10 deaths last night and i was having a ball, if a sniper took me out i would spawn as a sniper and kill him, it was just great.


If rambo is still alive or if there are any network guru's here (N+ and greater) then maybe you guys can help me with my backup ISP problem.

Ok so with all this MWeb stuff going on I got my backup ISP organised through Axxess.

Now for the weirdest thing, if i switch to them (Axxess) it does not authenticate nor does it receive a public IP.

I have spoken to the technical support and they really cant help me besides give me the one conclusion which is that my router is using DynDns and if i can disable the registration then it should be ok?
Is this true?

Now here is the big problem since the registration on the router has been done there is no way i can get into that part of the Routers interface, I have tried setting to factory defaults but ever since that day i cannot get into that part.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Take note that this account works on any other router.
 
First question: what router is it?
2nd question: are you entering the ISP via the router setup or you using a desktop connection?

I'll think about the 3rd question so long while you and anwser the first 2 :)
 
Do you have some custom DNS settings? <-- Shot in the dark, Worf stole my questions.

Ditto and Telkom is pissing me off too as everytime I log onto eve my line disconnects WTF! :wtf:

Not to sound funny, but have you have changed your router password. Unless your router is about to die on you, there should be no reason for it to auto restart.

99% of passwords on routers is "admin"

My password is most definitely not admin or password.

It just resets itself sometimes.
 
Hey, I've not played in a few months and thinking of playing again, is it possible to update the game offline now? ie. download the patches?

Yes, there is one download that you can do to update to the latest version. You just extract the game and paste over all the files. I had to do a punkbuster update and run the game update once after (even though nothing was downloaded) to get it to work.

Its pretty easy to use like that.


Archie, change your router to bridge mode and then test if you can dial up to it. That will overide all settings in the router itself.
If you cant find the router then download wireshark then start a capture across the network card that is connected to the router. Reboot the router and you will see where it is and then try the default logins.
What make and model is the router?

Ok its a D-Link 2650
2. Entering VIA isp in the router.

Riff.Its set to automatic.

Diagnostics come back saying there is something wrong with the ATM where it cant communicate to the ISP.
According to some pages this shouldnt be a problem.

Would like to setup up a dialup for windows 7 but it only picks up ISDN for my bluetooth.Or maybe am i setting it up wrong.
