It's going tough. Really tough. My cravings give me cold sweats and I'm so bloody cranky that I have to try avoid people as much as possible. My hands even start shaking at times.
But I'm ciggy-free for 3 days now so I'm hoping the cravings begin to subside a little from now on. My e-ciggy is broken too so I'm going proper cold turkey. I'm off to Singapore soon so I need to be smoke-free before I go...
So, it's day 1 for me. I'm on day 9 of Champix. So far, so good. Let's see how this goes.
Quick question, I have never smoked but my girl friend has, since she was 16. New years eve 2010 was when she had her last cigarette (6 years of smoking). 11 months later and there are times when she says she could do with a smoke, like after an exam or something like that. I presume this is normal behavior? I try not make a big deal out of it as i do not want to make it seem like i am forcing her not to smoke. Will she ever just not think about them again if so, after how many years?
Good luck, the Champix will help big time. I am approaching 2 weeks and feel great.
This is very normal. In fact she may still say this in 10 years. The key is to never act on it. Funny thing is, if she did, she would probably be amazed of kak it tastes and would probably get sick, but its still enough to hook you again. This is what happened to me and that was after 4 years. One slip and you are proper ****ed.
Try give her cred for the major achievement she has achieved. I know this really helped me. Tell her that she has achieved something that most smokers can't.

So, day 2 and so far so good! Down from 40+ a day to 0. Just over 15 years of smoking...

That's great! Watch out for Day 3 though... going from 2 packs a day to nothing is gonna hit you like a freight train tomorrow. Just stay strong..
2 weeks today! Going strong, feeling great.
